Yahoo! Job Expansion

Thursday, 21 March 2013 14:37
yahoobang-large Yahoo! today announced expansion plans to its Dublin Operations Center, adding more than 200 new employees in the next 12 months.  The company has already started recruiting for customer support, technology, operations, HR and finance which will support Yahoo!’s business across the Europe, Middle Eastern and Africa (EMEA) region.
For the past decade, Dublin has been a great home for Yahoo!, with its talented international workforce, strong business environment and sophisticated technology infrastructure.  Yahoo! opened its doors in Dublin in 2003, and what started as a small team has already grown into a multilingual and multicultural workforce today.
The Dublin team provides world-class customer care, technical and operational support, and finance-related services for the entire EMEA region.
Senior Yahoo! executives met with both An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD and the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, as part of Ireland’s Industrial Development Agency (IDA) investment missions in the past year.
“At Yahoo!, we’re all about making people’s daily habits inspiring and entertaining, and our team in Dublin helps make this happen everyday.  It’s  the face of Yahoo! for millions of users and advertisers throughout EMEA,” said Christophe Parcot, VP and head of EMEA.  “We’re keenly focused on recruiting and developing the best talent in the industry, and there is significant opportunity at Yahoo! for the right individuals who want to grow their careers with a global digital brand.”
An Taoiseach, Mr.Enda Kenny T.D said "I'm delighted to welcome the further expansion of Yahoo! in Dublin with 200 new jobs.  Ireland is becoming the internet capital of Europe with companies like Yahoo! offering great opportunities to our passionate, highly-skilled work force.  The Government, through its Action Plan for Jobs, will continue to make the changes to ensure Ireland remains competitive and a natural home for digital companies.  Yahoo!'s growing footprint in Ireland is a welcome statement of its commitment to this country."
Mr.Richard Bruton T.D, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation added “ICT is a key sector we have targeted through the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs, and since we took office more than 10,000 additional jobs have been created in this sector.  Today’s announcement that Yahoo!, one of the biggest brand names on the internet, is expanding its operations in Dublin and more than doubling its workforce here with the creation of 200 jobs is great news and further evidence that the plan is working. We in Government are determined to continue building on this, to attract further investments and create the jobs we need.”
Barry O’Leary, CEO at IDA Ireland said “Yahoo! is one of the jewels in the crown of the Irish-based “born on the internet” companies. It has successfully been running its operation here for nearly ten years. The Yahoo! decision to expand here is very welcome news for the Irish economy and further endorses the country’s reputation as a location to service the whole European, Middle Eastern and African regions.”

EastPointers named Best Workplaces 2013

Friday, 08 March 2013 10:46

Quintiles and Ergo have been named in the Best workplaces in Ireland 2013.

Quintiles came 13th in the large (301+ employees) and Ergo 8th respectively in the medium (101 to 300 employees) categories.

Great Place to Work® began with an unexpected discovery. In 1981 a New York editor asked two business journalists — Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz — to write a book called The 100 Best Companies to Work for in America. Though the pair were sceptical they could find 100 companies that would qualify, they agreed, starting a journey that would lead to more than 25 years of researching, recognising, and building great workplaces.

Today, Great Place to Work Institute partners with many of the most successful and innovative businesses around the world to create, study, and recognise great workplaces. During the course of a typical year, Great Place to Work works with more than 5,500 organisations, representing over 10 million employees. These partnerships continually build our unique expertise, including our multi-industry workplace culture benchmarking and best practice databases. Our premiere Best Workplaces lists are published or distributed by market-leading news media around the world, to an audience of more than 25 million readers. The combination of this direct advisory work and media coverage is all core to how we create a better society by helping companies transform their workplaces.

Arvato Continued Job Growth in EastPoint

Tuesday, 02 October 2012 07:52

arvato Finance celebrated its continued growth in Ireland by delivering on its promise to create 150 jobs in Dublin, a full two years ahead of schedule. The positions have been created in IT, consulting, finance and accounting, project management and customer service roles over the past 12 months. Supporting the growing demand for private and public BPO services, arvato is set to expand further and 100 positions have been created across the arvato network with over 60 positions currently available reflecting the strong demand for skilled people and 40 recently recruited.

To accommodate this sustained growth arvato has moved into new premises in Dublin’s Eastpoint Business Park. The building will be officially opened by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD, during an event with clients, business partners and employees today.

Marking the occasion, Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD said, “Only one year ago we celebrated arvato Finance’s 15th anniversary in Ireland and its plans to create 150 new jobs by 2014. I am delighted that arvato has already delivered on its promise and is further expanding its employee numbers and physical presence here. The Government has been working hard to improve Ireland's attractiveness as a business location and it’s great to see international companies expand and thrive in Ireland, boosting jobs and bringing our business services sector forward.”

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD said: “Today’s announcement that arvato is expanding ahead of schedule and creating 100 additional jobs in Fairview is great news for north Dublin and for Ireland. Financial services forms a key part of the Government’s plans for jobs and growth, with a target of 10,000 additional jobs by 2016. Today’s announcement shows that Ireland’s offering is strong in this sector. I am determined that, through continued implementation of the Action Plan for Jobs, we will continue to attract additional investment in this sector and create more jobs for north Dublin and for Ireland”.

Dublin continues to be a strategic centre of knowledge and innovation for arvato Finance. The company has made significant investment into the refurbishment of the 6,000 sq metre premises, which has been re-named ‘The arvato Building’. It features state of the art office and meeting facilities for 350 employees, and provides sufficient space for future expansion.

Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland said, “With more than 1,350 employees in Ireland, arvato, is an important strategic client for IDA Ireland and their decision to expand further demonstrates the long-term commitment of this German company to their Irish operations. The Irish company has won a number of strategic business lines over recent years and this expansion and new office space is an endorsement of the significance of the business processing sector in Ireland.’’

arvato’s employees in Dublin work in more than 35 languages. The operation’s multicultural employee base supports Dublin’s position as a key strategic centre for the company’s global network.

Andrea Kaminski, President, International Finance and arvato Ireland, said, “We’ve been successfully providing outsourcing solutions to national and international clients from Ireland for over 16 years now. We’re very confident we’ll continue to find the business environment and the highly skilled people we need to support future growth. We look forward to starting work at our new offices and continuing our success story in Ireland!”
